Let’s have a look at these gems that make the eyes glitter with nostalgia; the movies that you’ve seen every December and will probably do so this year as well. In case you’re not in the mood to rewatch Home Alone for the third time this month, please click here.
Home Alone (1990)
Undoubtedly one of the most iconic, memorable, and beloved Christmas movies of all, Home Alone has stood as a staple of December cinema.
There’s really nothing wrong with watching it for the third time this month.
Die Hard (1988)
A strange inclusion but yes, Die Hard is in fact considered a classic Christmas movie, and a cult one at that. People love and quote this movie religiously. How is it a Christmas movie? Well for starters, he’s trying to return to his family for Christmas, and his wife’s name is Holly.
How The Grinch Stole Christmas (2000)
Dr.Seuss’s own ‘Christmas Carol’, the character of the Grinch is someone we can all relate to, not necessarily for his hatred towards Christmas. The Grinch’s tale is one of an outsider, whose pain and suffering became anger and misanthropy, yet who through the beautiful kindness of others finally found some sense of peace.
Elf (2003)
If you don’t like Will Ferrell then just keep on scrolling down to the Gremlins. If you do, you definitely know this movie. Buddy, who grows up in the North Pole and is raised by the elves and Santa, one day wakes up to the realization that he is in fact not an elf, but a human being. He leaves the north pole and heads to New York City in search of his biological dad. A sweet story of a family reunited.
Gremlins (1984)
For the 80’s fanatics out there, and the people who have a penchant for horror fantasy movies, this is no surprise; for Christmas film lovers, it might be. First off, you should know that this was written by the guy who directed Home Alone, so this is already looking promising. You should also know that the story sets off with the father of the protagonist gifting his son a cute-looking fantastical creature for Christmas. Other than that we suggest you give it a go.
I am already getting the warm fuzzy feels. Which one is your favorite?
