The year is swinging well into its warm months. The summer wardrobe has been flung open once again. It’s island season, time to get away from your urban cosmopolitan life and reconnect with nature. You crave sunshine, a good drink and stunning views of an authentic organic environment. But most of all, you crave to enjoy the music and art. Lucky for you, deep inside Ta’ Qali National Park in sunny Malta, preparations are happening for the musical journey of the year. Boomerang Festival is once again bringing you the perfect environment to connect with music, nature and art in Malta.
What is Boomerang Festival
A three-day art celebration right in the middle of Malta, Boomerang Festival is an annual event. It brings together musical performances by renowned international alternative artists and wellness activities. For three days you can partake in a fulfilling, “back to the roots” themed itinerary. The ordinary, everyday experiences you never understand enough to enjoy, transform into something extraordinary. The events will take place from Friday 31st May till Sunday 2nd June.
So what does Boomerang Festival actually entail? The festival sets up a space for a transcending journey to reconnect with your soul through music and art. Inside Ta’ Qali National Park will be three musical stages, a camping ground, bars and food stalls, family games, a kids park and an ethnic bazaar.
A musical experience
Boomerang Festival centers around alternative music that speaks to the listener. The three stages are arranged by genre, each with its own impressive lineup. The Rhythm Yard stage brings you famous names in Reggae/ska. There, you can enjoy the music of The Skints, and Dub Pistols from the UK. You can also catch a set by one of the most prominent female voices of the genre, Queen Omega. On the Electric Woods stage, you will find legends of the Techno scene. US artist Josh Wink is just one of the names who will be appearing. Another two are the Leftfield and Orbital DJ sets. Finally, at Groove Temple, enjoy Ethnic Chill music curated by Cafe de Anatolia, one of the best of the World Music record labels.
The artists who are coming to Malta for the festival, along with the arrangement of the stages, create a unique way to experience emotion, art and nature through music.
Art, Nature, and Wellness
There is an array of other activities arranged as wellness programmes which include workshops such as yoga, meditation and cosmic dance sessions. Currently, all camping tickets are sold out. However, you can still grab your 1-day pass or 3-day weekend pass to enjoy the Festival.
Boomerang Festival provides an artistic and creative outlet. Many interactive activities will be organized, like a sculpture competition. You can appreciate the talent and inspiration of the artists, who will turn ordinary ‘repurposed material’ into extraordinary works of art using recycled materials.
Boomerang Festival organisers also brought on some impressive partners to bring you the most authentic experience possible. The event is created in collaboration with the Chai Wallahs, who have hosted rooms in the legendary Glastonbury and Shambala Festivals; and Cafe De Anatolia, the world’s most popular ethnic music stream.
After a busy year, and before a hectic summer, renew yourself in an all immersive experience. See you at Boomerang Festival this summer in Malta.
